Kentucky's public pension crisis has come a long way in a short amount of time

See the chart on Page Two of this report in the Bluegrass Institute's "Future Shock" series outlining Kentucky's public-pension crisis.

This was how much the funding levels of each of Kentucky's six major public retirement plans dipped for each year between 2000 and 2010. Of course, now the KERS' funding level is barely half of what it was just five years ago. No one in the Kentucky General Assembly should question why the pension system is the Bevin administration's top priority and why he will veto any budget that isn't austere.
