Kentucky is dropping teacher Master's Degree requirement -- More you should hear

It is announced that the reformed Kentucky Educational Professional Standards Board, which moved from being a separate agency to being part of the Kentucky Department of Education, has voted to drop the mandate for all Kentucky public school teachers to earn a Master's Degree by their 10th year in the classroom.

This move is generating a lot of controversy, and we suggest checking out comments in Bluegrass Scholar Dr. Gary Houchens' blog before going off the deep end on this one.

One point of note: There is a lot of research showing that teachers with Master's Degrees don't get notably better student performance. See Dr. Houchens' blog for more on that.
