Quote of the Day: WSJ on schools run by and for adults

Quoteoftheday

“He’s right that the school system he presides over does a grave disservice to black and Latino children. But he’ll never admit that the reason is because the public schools are run by and for adults, i.e., the teachers unions that are Mr. de Blasio’s political allies.”

Wall Street Journal Editorial Board on NYC Mayor de Blasio’s schools

Note: As in NYC, here in Kentucky others like former Jefferson County Public School District (JCPS) Chief Academic Officer Dr. Dewey Hensley and former JCPS Chief Business Officer Tom Hudson have charged that JCPS is also more focused on adult interests than the needs of students, and Hudson has pointed to the union contract as part of the problem.
