RSVP now! BIPPS board member, advisor to governor will comment on public-pension crisis at Thursday’s President’s Dinner

Sir Antony Fisher

Make plans to join us for “Blazing a Path to Liberty,” the 2015 Bluegrass Institute President’s Dinner and Liberty Awards this Thurs., Dec. 10, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the beautiful and historic Brown Hotel in downtown Louisville. Tom Dupree, Bluegrass Institute board member and advisor to incoming Gov. Matt Bevin on pension-reform policy will give an update during the reception at 6:15 p.m.

Gov.-elect Bevin was a guest of honor at last year’s President’s Dinner.

We will be presenting coveted Liberty Awards to policymakers and individuals who have worked to advance free-market policies in our commonwealth, including:

  • Pastor Jerry L. Stephenson, pastor of the Midwest Church of Christ in Louisville’s inner city, founder of the Kentucky Pastors in Action Coalition and tireless advocate for charter schools.

  • Warren County Judge-Executive Mike Buchanon, who led the effort to pass America’s first local right-to-work ordinance.

  • Rep. Rick Rand, chairman of the Kentucky House of Representatives’ Appropriations and Revenue Committee and strong supporter of reforming Kentucky’s telecommunications regulations.

  • Sen. Ralph Alvarado, who’s leading tort-reform efforts in Frankfort, including the creation of medical-review panels to decide whether malpractice complaints have sufficient merit to proceed to the courts.

We will honor the centennial anniversary of the late Sir Antony Fisher’s birthday. Sir Antony was a pioneer of the free-market think tank movement who believed that independent liberty organizations like the Bluegrass Institute are vital to changing the climate of ideas in order to strengthen the virtues of limited government, allowing individual initiative and free enterprise to flourish.

Brad Lips, CEO of the Atlas Network, which was founded by Sir Antony, will be our keynote speaker.

The Bluegrass Institute was built through an early investment of his Dorian and Antony Fisher Venture Grant fund.

Brad will join Bluegrass Institute president Jim Waters as part of another Bluegrass Tuesday hour on the Mandy Connell Show on Louisville’s 840 WHAS-AM on Tuesday at 6:20 p.m.  Listen live here.

Seating is limited. RSVP here today!
