Will schools lose federal funds if kids don’t take mandated tests? Fact vs. threat

This article ran in the Washington Post’s education blog a few days ago. It adds interesting perspective to what seems to be a growing discussion around the country about parents opting their kids out of state tests.

As I wrote a few days ago, this seems to be a potential issue in Kentucky, as well.

By the way, as this Herald-Leader article points out, there apparently is an opt-out movement here in the Bluegrass State.

BIPPS has not developed a position on opting out, by the way, but we think our readers need the full story on what is happening with this anti-Common Core activity.
