About those teacher shortages we’ve heard about

Thanks to an observant tweeter on X (Formerly Twitter), I found out about this interesting set of statistics:

As of October, the job opening rates for state and local education positions are the lowest of any reported employment sector per a Bureau of Labor Statistics December 5, 2023 News Release.

So, how’s that again about teacher shortages? People in the professional and business services sector must be gagging.
