New group's mission: Support choice, equip teachers, stress civics and offer ed solutions

BIPPS CEO Jim Waters talks education freedom and reform with Louisvillian Beanie Geoghegan while guest-hosting on “Kruser and Krew” on Lexington’s News Talk 97.3 FM, WVLK.

Beanie discusses the purpose of Freedom in Education, a new nonprofit she’s helped start that will support choice for all parents, regardless of income or zip code and classroom teachers through curriculums and lesson plans “free from political or social ideologies,” according to a press release announcing the recent launch of the organization.

The interview includes discussion on how the current state of public education in America demands both reforms within the system, including an emphasis on civics education ensuring students know the truth about America’s founding – especially its constitutional principles, and alternatives for parents.
