Center for Open Government: West End Opportunity Partnership meeting on Wednesday.

The West End Opportunity Partnership provided notice over the weekend their board of directors will meet on Wednesday (9/29). Early notification of the meeting is another positive sign the Partnership is taking their open government responsibilities seriously.

In July, the Center for Open Government was critical of the Kentucky General Assembly’s lack of transparency in creating the westend TIF district. We wrote:

Legislative leaders botched the creation of the west Louisville TIF. Their disregard for transparency and insistence on enacting the legislation in the final minutes of the session created understandable suspicion. How the Partnership responds to the demands of open government will determine if it can build legitimacy with stakeholders and taxpayers over the long run.

The meeting notice builds on the Partnership’s solid start in August.
