Frankfort and Pikeville, Kentucky will host EPA hearings this week about the agency's refusal to issue Clean Water Act permits for new or expanded surface coal mining activities in Eastern Kentucky over the past two years.

Attend these rallies and hearings to learn more about EPA's attack on Kentucky coal and the economic impact of rejected mining permits!

June 5 - Frankfort:

A rally will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside the Frankfort Convention Center (405 Mero St., Frankfort), followed by the hearing inside the convention center from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.

June 7 - Pikeville:

An EPA hearing will be held at the East Kentucky Expo Center in downtown Pikeville from Noon to 4 p.m., followed by a rally in Pikeville City Park (adjacent to the expo center) from 4:15 to 6:45 p.m., followed by more hearings (back inside the Expo Center) from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
