Earlier reported allegations of cheating on COMPASS tests at Louisville’s competitive magnet Male High School have now expanded with new allegations of improprieties, this time during ACT college entrance testing.

The Courier-Journal reports in “Male principal David Mike reassigned in ACT inquiry” that former Male principal David Mike has been removed from his position at the school and reassigned to the Jefferson County Public School District’s central office. This action followed after the ACT, Inc., which creates and administers the ACT, sent Mike a letter saying he was no longer "authorized to access, administer or oversee the administration of tests for any ACT-owned or branded products, unless ACT has given written permission otherwise."

The Courier-Journal indicates that Mike is actually undergoing several different investigations.

This is a highly disturbing and bizarre situation for one of Louisville’s – indeed Kentucky’s – most highly regarded schools. It is unknown if the improprieties on the ACT could impact students’ futures, but the kids in this very top performing school don’t deserve such clouds over their lives.
