Bang for the Buck 2012

Need a good example of a "diamond in the rough?" Look no further than Eminence Independent Schools in Kentucky.cn|2 Pure Politics reported on many of the great things the school district is doing and The Bluegrass Institute profiled the school in the recently release Bang for the Buck 2012.

Eminence Independent employs many innovative techniques that help identify it as a "diamond in the rough" - a district that is efficiently providing education despite significant challenges.

Eminence Independent Schools Superintendent Buddy Berry personally conduces a significant portion of his districts professional development program - a great way of ensuring that all teachers are on the same track. In addition, the Eminence professional development sessions are videoed and are loaded onto YouTube, allowing other districts to immediately benefit from the sessions at no cost. The district even uses students in some parts of the district's professional development program - a powerful way to facilitate good customer feedback.

This type of innovation should be a model statewide.
