JCPS schools: Bureaucrats feel the heat as parents cut to the chase

Notice the clear difference between statements made by parents and the response of the Jefferson County Public Schools today to the recent charge by Education Commissioner Terry Holliday that the system is guilty of "academic genocide": First, Lenora Yarbrough, who has two teenagers enrolled in JCPS said at a news conference at Shawnee High School today: "JCPS is using the same system and expecting a different outcome."

Pretty clear, right?

But then here is some more gobbledygook stew (otherwise known as BS tew) cooked up and released following that news conference by a desperate, failing school system: "Our focus at JCPS is ensuring ALL students graduate prepared for the future. We believe that through our continued collaboration with the Kentucky Department of Education in our Priority Schools, we can help students increase achievement. Each plan implemented in these schools is unique and tailored to student needs. By differentiating instruction through the help of data driven professional learning communities and the expansion of out-of-school-time learning opportunities for all students, we are confident we will see improved outcomes."

Could someone tell me what, if anything, the JCPS statement means? Yeah, ok. I thought so.
