Summer school for Kindergarteners????

It’s happening in New York Could it happen in Kentucky?

It looks like pressures from Common Core State Standards have gone beyond critical mass in New York. One school district there just told parents at the very end of the school year that their Kindergarteners would have to attend summer school to advance to the first grade!

One parent was told her Kindergartener was headed to the summer school program due to an unsatisfactory "academic portfolio" and "multiple assessment measures" review. Who is keeping stuff like that on five-year olds?

So, thanks to Common Core related pressures, now a kid can flunk Kindergarten.
