West Virginia repeals Common Core Standards

The Associated Press is reporting that West Virginia's board of education just repealed that state's use of the Common Core State Standards.

This comes as a major surprise given that only a few months ago the West Virginia board had travelled to Kentucky's Board of Education meeting and seemed to express considerable admiration for the Bluegrass State's education programs, which are solidly arranged around the Common Core.

I'll try to get more information about this abrupt and unexpected turn of events.
