Bevin's former campaign communications director joins Bluegrass Institute team

(LOUISVILLE, Ky.) – The Bluegrass Institute for Public Policy Solutions, Kentucky’s first and only free-market think tank, welcomes Sarah Durand as its Government Affairs Director and Digital Marketing Strategist.
Durand formerly served as communications director on the campaigns of Gov. Matt Bevin and Angela Leet.
“Sarah’s talent, experience and commitment to free-market principles will help the Bluegrass Institute continue to grow our impact, sharpen our focus on reforming Kentucky’s pension and education policies and fulfill our vision of moving Kentucky from dependency to prosperity,” Bluegrass Institute President and CEO Jim Waters said.
Durand’s wide range of experience includes serving as chief of staff for Kentucky First Lady Glenna Bevin, working with Mulloy Borland, a well-known public affairs firm, and leading the Louisville Tea Party.
“As a long-time supporter of the Bluegrass Institute’s mission and goals, I’m excited to officially join the team,” said Sarah Durand. “The Bluegrass Institute has played an integral role in important policy changes that make Kentucky government more transparent and accountable, and I look forward to helping them continue those efforts.”
Durand will lead the institute’s effort to gain policy wins in Frankfort while also greatly increasing the organization’s presence on social media, effectiveness in connecting Kentuckians with its research, opinion pieces and coalition efforts with other like-minded groups.
