Study shows charter school graduates more likely to complete college, earn higher salaries

Education Week reports that a new study conducted by a team of researchers from Georgia State University, Vanderbilt University, and Mathematica Policy Research shows “Charter School Graduates More Likely to Stay in College, Earn Higher Salaries.”

While the study is a first step into this long-term impacts area, the reporters claim:

"This early evidence of positive effects for these students on educational attainment and earnings in adulthood raises the question of whether charter schools' full long-term impacts on their students have been underestimated by studies that examine only test scores."

Selfish adult interests once again blocked legislation during the 2016 session of the Kentucky General Assembly that allows the Bluegrass State's students to benefit from the growing list of charter success stories like those found in this new study. Those self-serving interests would not even consider a highly limited pilot program of charters in Kentucky.
