How’s that? Louisville parents want more school choice and less busing!!!

Well, what do you know? The Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) just released results of a parent survey and, would you believe it, according to this article from Insider Louisville, parents are saying exactly the sorts of things we’ve been talking about at the Bluegrass Institute for some time.

Per the article, parents want:

  • More school choice (Just like we’ve been saying for years)

  • More say in where their children go to school (Ditto)

  • Better performance across racial lines (We’ve led on that discussion, too)

Also, parents are not generally convinced that racial diversity leads to higher academic performance, which directly undermines the crazy busing situation in JCPS.I guess the only ones who should be surprised are the JCPS staffers who have pushed a different viewpoint for years. Those who know parents aren’t surprised at all.
